I bought this in conjunction with a handful of window and door contacts to use with my Honeywell base doorbell unit.
1. Other poster is absolutely correct - the instructions are unbelievably BAD. In fact I think they probably do more harm than good.
2. One thing that was not clear before I bought was that you need to buy one of these extenders for EVERY set of door/window contacts you buy! That can add up in price if you want to cover all your doors, not to mention low level windows! Sheesh...doesn't mention this ANYwhere in description. I assumed it wirelessly (like the base unit) controlled any door or window contacts installed. But noooooooooo.
I also think that if you were to use this as just a "push" that it doesn't look anything like a "normal" push so I can understand that people would knock instead, ironically. They should have designed it to look more like the white, dedicated pushes that comes with the base system instead, imo. Those are very obviously doorbell pushses...this looks more like a...retina scanner or something. :)Get more detail about Honeywell RPWL3045A1003/A Wireless Premium Portable Converter/Extender/Push Button.
